Service Description

Introduction Level | Rhino Basics Required This in-person Rhino 3D jewelry modeling course is designed for students with prior experience using Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino 8) who are ready to apply those skills to professional jewelry design. Taught by an authorized Rhino instructor and certified jeweler in Atlanta, Georgia, the course focuses on precision modeling techniques used in jewelry CAD, digital fabrication, and 3D printing workflows. Participants should be comfortable navigating the Rhino interface and toolbars prior to enrolling. This hands-on course is ideal for designers, jewelers, and makers seeking advanced Rhino 3D training in the Southeast USA. Duration The course includes 20 hours of instruction held over two weeks. Classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Saturday sessions from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including a one-hour lunch break. Cost $650 Course Objectives Acquire modeling skills using Rhino 8 Explore jewelry design fundamentals and initial stages Understand jewelry typology, ring anatomy, and sketching tools Gain insight into manufacturing and modeling for prototyping Model emblematic rings from shapes to gem settings Learn to prepare and present pieces with layouts and blueprints Ready models for printing and rendering Prerequisites This course is one level above introductory Rhino 3D training and is not intended for first-time users. Participants should already have a working knowledge of Rhino 8, including navigating viewports, using curves and surfaces, object snaps, and basic editing commands. Prior experience through an introductory course, self-study, or professional use is required. Additional Information Class size is limited to six students to ensure personalized instruction and meaningful feedback. Real-world jewelry design examples and production considerations are integrated throughout the course. The instructor is available before and after class and via email between sessions. Equipment Required A laptop, a two-button scroll mouse, and Rhino 8 or the Rhino 8 evaluation version (valid for 90 days) installed before the first session. Attendance & Course Pace This is a fast-paced, in-person jewelry CAD course. All sessions must be attended. Missed classes cannot be made up.
